Tour Overview

Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the heart of Greece, from ancient oracles and floating monasteries to royal tombs and the mythological home of the Greek gods. This 4-day road trip blends history, culture, spirituality and nature into one unforgettable experience.

Day 1 – Athens  – Arachova – Delphi – Kalambaka (Overnight in Kastraki)
Our adventure begins with a morning departure from Athens and a short scenic stop in Arachova, a charming alpine village nestled on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Its stone houses and cozy cafés offer the perfect introduction to Central Greece.

Next, we visit Delphi, once considered the “navel of the world.” A guided tour takes us through the Temple of Apollo, the ancient theatre, the Athenian Treasury and the Delphi Museum, home to the famous bronze Charioteer. Discover the mystical energy of the ancient oracle and its role in shaping the course of Greek history.

In the late afternoon, we head to Kalambaka and check into a hotel in the picturesque village of Kastraki, right at the foot of the otherworldly rocks of Meteora.

Day 2 – Meteora – Thessaloniki
After breakfast, we explore the majestic Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where centuries-old monasteries perch atop towering sandstone pillars. We’ll visit 2–3 of these monasteries and learn about the monastic life, Byzantine art and breathtaking landscapes.

In the afternoon, we journey north to Thessaloniki, Greece’s vibrant second city. Enjoy an evening walk along the seafront promenade, with optional stops at the White Tower, Rotunda and Aristotelous Square. Overnight in Thessaloniki.

Day 3 – Vergina & Veria (Overnight in Thessaloniki)
We begin the day with a visit to Vergina, ancient Aigai, the first capital of Macedonia. Here lies the Royal Tomb of King Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. The underground Vergina Museum houses dazzling gold relics, weapons and crowns a true glimpse into the grandeur of Macedonian royalty.

Next, we stop at Veria, a serene town where Apostle Paul once preached. Visit the marble altar known as the “Bema of Saint Paul” and wander through the old town’s cobbled alleys and Byzantine churches.

Return to Thessaloniki for a second overnight stay and a taste of the city’s lively culinary scene.

Day 4 – Litochoro – Mount Olympus – Thermopylae – Athens
Today we head south to Litochoro, a charming mountain village nestled at the base of Mount Olympus, the sacred mountain of ancient Greek mythology. Towering into the clouds, Olympus was believed to be the throne of the Twelve Olympian Gods Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Athena, Apollo, Artemis and more who ruled from its divine peaks.

Optional short hike into the Enipeas Gorge, where legend says the Muses bathed and the gods watched over mortals. The energy of Olympus is still palpable both mystical and humbling.

On our return to Athens, we stop at the historic battlefield of Thermopylae, where King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans made their legendary stand against the Persian Empire. A moment of reflection at the statue of Leonidas closes this epic journey.
Return to Athens by evening.
